The Taste

On 17th of May, we went down to Ned’s Crepes to try out their two of their popular crepes, Choco Nana and Blush.

When my group and I had our first bite of the Choco nana, it was spectacular. Our eyes widened, the burst of chocolate filled our mouths and soon it began to water. The crunch of the crepe matches the taste perfectly and we felt like it was a match made in heaven.

For the taste of the blush, it was a whole different experience. Since it was a hot day, the chewy feeling of the crepe, with cool and delicious ice cream made us feel good inside. Furthermore, we had moments where it was crunchy such as when we bite the koko crunch and the freshness of the strawberries made the whole taste an unforgettable one!

Our Decision

After much consideration within our group, we decided to work with Ned’s Crepes.
The reason why we didn't work with Lavina and Le Bunny it's because working with female
retail stores as it might reduce the target market.During the interview, the manager mentioned
that he didn't want us to contact him through email because we might have misconception
of the ideas presented vice versa.Instead, we contacted him by text messages and phone calls for his approval to work with us.

After doing some research our group has understood that Ned’s Crepes is not very popular on the
internet. When we searched for the reviews of the company, we could only find a few.
This means that many people may not know about Ned’s Crepes and that there are potential customers that

we can reach through social media. We also looked at their facebook page.
As this company had 2 different owners before this current owner, there are 2 different pages and one person known as Ned’s Crepes. The two pages are currently very inactive. We can't wait to start working with this company.

Our trip to Ned's Crepes

On 27th of April, we met up with the manager of Ned’s Crepes as the boss was unavailable on that day. Our group went to Burger King to meet him. At first we were pretty nervous of how the meeting would turn out. However, during the meeting, he was very friendly and welcoming. This made it easier for us to share our ideas and to understand his opinions and concerns.
His first concern was if we were serious about the project. He said this because he had a bad experience with a previous group of poly students as they were not serious about their project. We assured him that we were serious and we would go all out to promote his company.
He told us that he had hired an advertising consultant and would want us to talk to the consultant when we are suggesting our ideas as he does not wish for any clash of ideas to occur.
We also will be meeting the consultant soon to discuss our ideas we have. In the end the interview lasted for about 20 minutes and the manager was happy to work with us. All in all it was a very wonderful experience. Ned’s Crepes is located at 3 New Bugis Street, #02-07, Bugis, 188867

Prego

We went to Prego on the 26th of April. It is located at first level of Fairmont Singapore Swissotel the Stamford. Their contact number is 6431 6156 .

Upon entering the place, we could tell that it was a very luxurious and a place where only the rich could afford. We were greeted by the friendly staffs there. It was very intimidating when we asked them for the manager.
So we told him about our project and asked a few questions about his shop. The whole meeting lasted for about 20-25mins. Their deserts were all very appealing.

After the meeting, he showed interest in our project but unfortunately, he said that they had their own marketing team so he couldn’t accept us. Even so, he still wished us all the best for our project.

We still managed to take a group photo with him.

It was a nice experience as it also taught us how to approach the staffs to speak to their managers to not let them think that we were trying to complain their services.
It’s really a pity to not work with them but we continued on to other companies with a smile.

Le Bunny Bleu

So on the 26th April 2013 at 1230, we were walking around Bugis, looking for shops. As we were walking, a shop caught my eye. It was Le Bunny Bleu. Located at #02-54 of Bugis+, it was located at the link bridge between Bugis Junction and Bugis+.

I decided to walk in to approach the boss and discuss whether we would collaborate together to help market their brand. After much discussion with the boss, I found out that their shop just opened recently and is a popular New York apparel that has been franchised in. He knew that we were students from Singapore Polythenic and was more than glad to let us help him advertise his shop through means of social media. But he was also concerned as to whether we were going to be serious in what we do. Likewise for the other shops that we all approached. We gave him our assurance that we would give a 110% in whatever we do, with that we gained his assurance and trust.

After much research, I found out that the mission of Le Bunny Bleu is to create a unique trend on how shoes are being worn right now. Mixing the modern New York fashion scene with those of the romantic European vintage era. Personally, I found their shoes very unique as all their shoes had their trademark bunny logo on it. Like their mission, they gave me a modern and vintage feeling at the same time. Not being a female, I would not know how others might have their views on this. But with much advertising and marketing, I am sure Le Bunny Bleu would be a hit in Singapore.

Eventually, the owner was more than glad to work with us, but sadly, we had to turn him down as we decided to work with Ned's Crepes instead.

Cold Stone Creamery

Our next shop is Cold Stone Creamery located at CityLink Mall 1 Raffles Link,#B1-15 Singapore 039393. To our surprise, when we went to the shop the staffs told us that the manager was also there. Then we approached the manager and told him that we are from Singapore Polytechnic and have a Social Media Marketing and asked if we could have the permission to promote their company using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Unfortunately, the manager rejected because he said that they already had their own marketing team. Although the meeting did not turn out the way we wanted to be, it was a very good experience on how we can learn to pursue different companies.

Our First Attempt To 51 Soya Bean & A Taste of Blackball's Signature Dessert!

On April 19th, after school, five of our group members went to the 51 soya bean at Blk 442 Clementi Avenue 3. We introduced ourselves to an aunty who seemed to be the only staff there. After that, we suggested to the auntie if we could collaborate with them to help further market the company via means of social media platforms. Unfortunately, she said she could not help us because she was not the boss of the company and she was not able to give any response regarding our questions. She then told us that their main branch was actually at ‘Old Changi Road’ and that the boss of the company was supposedly to be there!

We then bought two of their original flavored soya bean curd and requested if we could have a picture with her in front of the store. We were quite disappointed when the aunty declined because she said she did not feel like she was in the position to take a photo with us as she was not the boss of the company. We did not want force and waste her time, so at the end, we just shook hands with the sweet ‘ah ma’ and thanked for her help and time. Before we left, she told us that we should in fact visit her shop more often and that if she’d recognize our faces, she would definitely give us a special discount.

After that, we went to have a taste of Blackball's signature dessert which was really mouthwatering and worth every penny!! At the same time, we also had a taste of the soya bean curd that we bought from ’51 Soya Bean’ earlier. The bean curd very soft and silky, and the smooth curd just dissolved instantaneously in our mouths!
